In the world today, it seems that almost any topic is open for debate. While I was gathering data for this article, I was very surprised to find some of the issues have been resolved, I think we really still are discussed openly. Asbestos, a natural complex silicate, was extensively used in many industries, including insulation in shipbuilding, manufacture of brake linings, and automobiles.

Asbestos is a common name given to a group of six fibrous minerals which have their existence in two general forms, friable and non friable. Toxic effects induced by the inhalation of asbestos including desquamating alveolitis, bronchiolitis, and pulmonary fibrosis. Other more serious illnesses to health caused by exposure to asbestos include pleural effusion, pleural plaques, mesothelioma and pleural calcification (a malignancy). Mesothelioma, a serious health problem associated with asbestos exposure, starts when cells in the mesothelium (a protective lining that covers most of the internal organs of the body) becomes abnormal and divide without control and order.

That these cancer cells spread to damage tissues and organs. The diagnosis of pleural mesothelioma is difficult by cytology. The characteristic radiographic feature of the disease is huge pleural effusion.

The disease is almost three times more common in males than females. The maximum number of cases of mesothelioma in the age group 40-60 years. The most common symptoms observed during the onset of mesothelioma include fatigue, breathlessness, chest pain and dull. Other less common symptoms include cough, fever and weight loss.

Hemoptysis is a symptom of mesothelioma, which is rarely observed. Treatment (chemotherapy or immunotherapy) means are mostly unable to help significantly in treatment. Although radiotherapy and pleurectomy which no effective treatment options. The median patient survival after diagnosis of mesothelioma is from 8 to 10 months. Most can be preferable to a preventive treatment for mesothelioma.

Strict industrial safety, hygiene and regular monitoring of workers exposed to asbestos should be the essential part of the grave Mesothelioma methods of preventive treatment. Of course, it is impossible to put everything on asbestos and mesothelioma in a single article. But there is no denying that you just add to your knowledge on asbestos and mesothelioma, and wasted time.
